F1-27. Privilege by Grand Duke Alexander of Lithuania to the inhabitants of Vilnius

Grand Duke Alexander of Lithuania exempts the inhabitants of Vilnius, according to the Magdeburg rights, from the duty called “pastotës”.

Bright red wax lesser seal of Lithuania in a wax bowl attached with a string of light cherry thread. Diameter 37 mm.
Latin; 1 f.; 22x36,4+8,2 cm; Text: 12x25,5 cm; 19 rows. The parchment decayed along the folds. Ink faded and smeared in places. Underwent repairs in 2002.  The first word of intitulatio is written in enlarged letters. Initial is decorated and takes up 11 lines. There is a synchro postscript on the margins. 
The label of Vilnius Public Library is on the reverse of the parchment.
